Inside, Sugar Bird Rest is decorated with colorful tropical fabrics and the artwork of local and Caribbean artists. Its fully appointed kitchen affords easy preparation of casual and formal meals. Outside Sugar Bird features immediate access to the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea, which lap gently onto the Carina Bay shoreline just 50 feet away from this beachfront villa.

Snorkel to Carina Bay's own barrier reef which comes all the way to the shoreline for easy beach access to it just 500 yards west of Sugar Bird. Or just relax all day but remember to watch for Dolphins inside the reef! Talk to the local fishermen whose mooring right next door allows you first choice of their fresh catch of Red Snapper, Lobsters and other fresh local seafood. Recipe for Snapper stuff and cover with chopped garlic and lemons, salt and pepper to taste, wrap in tin foil and put on grill for one hour at low medium heat. You may never want to leave home once you arrive at Sugar Bird but if you do, you can spend days exploring St. Croix historic towns and sites. You can shop in an array of exquisite local shops featuring the work of local artisans or duty-free items from around the globe.

You can golf on one of the islands two showcase 18-hole courses or its casual nine-hole course. Fine and casual dining opportunities abound on the island along with casual beach bars where you can relax and gaze at the ocean. Explore the islands rainforests and other public and private beaches and snorkeling spots. Three National Parks, a National Forest and other national points of interest are on St. Croix. Have a sailing and snorkeling adventure to Buck Island National Park with its fabulous beaches and reefs or stand on the spot where Christopher Columbus landed on his second trip to America in 1493 and then take a sea kayak trip through the Mangrove coves of Salt River National Park.
